Contest: Platform Climbing

This contest has ended. Thank you for all your great entries. Please check out the winners and highlighted entries below!

Welcome to the 13th official Principia Building Contest!

The topic of the week is to create a vehicle, robot or just about anything that can climb platforms. The distance between the platforms and the total height it can climb does not matter, what matters is how it gets from one platform to the other. Does it fly, jump, drag itself, transform, bounce, or just use very fast speed to get up?

You have until next Thursday (May 15th)! Good luck! The winner recevies a Golden Trophy and the runner up gets a Silver Trophy!

The level must be custom.

No old levels or derivatives.

Do not abuse the Stabilizer object!

  • JOELwindows7: @Tesla: congratz dude! from 1880 until now, you continued him ;)
  • Golden: @TechZ: thanks dude
  • TechZ2124: Congats @Tesla: and @golden: for your first trophy ! I could not make an entry because of the national exam but now they are finished and I am back XD !
  • pajlada: The contest is now over, thanks for the great entries!
    Congratulations Tesla and golden :-)
  • keeghan: I really want to win or runner-up, I'm only a beginner.:(
  • elie_elie5000: Mylevelinfirstposition
  • pajlada: @Tesla: Looking good :)
  • electro: @pajlada: thanks
  • pajlada: @electro: You can create a derivative from your own level, if the vehicle is different, yes.
    I don't see a problem with that.
  • electro: @pajlada: I made another vehicle for my "sulerhard platform climber" and I want to publish it in next update of level is it allowed? Because my next update is another vehicle. Understand?
  • pajlada: @electro: I don't understand your question..
  • electro: @pajlada: ???
  • Tesla: Guys..check out's my first entry and also my first level
  • electro: @pajlada: @sdac: I am going to update my superhard platform climber and updates are related to vehicle I mean I designed a new vehicle for that can I Chang whole vehicle?
  • Golden: @pajlada: thanks
  • pajlada: @golden: Stabilizers are allowed, but they should be kept to a bare minimum. As sdac mentioned, they should be used to work around limitations of the physics engine, nothing else.
  • electro: I made one which can terrain ultra hard track which is impossible for any other vehicle in principia but mine is not too complex. Please reply ASAP
  • electro: @sdac: is it allowed?

    Too simple
    Rocket, thruster without timer
    Simple electronics
  • Rubicon2: @sdac: I think your example level should win the contest lol, I liked it when I first seen it, and now that I watched it again I'm just as impressed by it.
  • Golden: @sdac: no stabilizer allowed?
  • keeghan: Check out my level called "outfitted platform climber"!
  • sdac: Please note, the stabilizer is NOT a replacement for a good balance system, the stabilizer is an unrealistic object intended so work around limitations of the physics engine, NOTHING else.
  • sdac: It doesn't matter what object it climbs on
  • GH7: @sdac: Does my creation follow the rules? Because I used textured pixels rather than platforms.
  • cornfield gamer2: I think for this type of challenge there should be a universal course that everyone has to work with. but that is just my opinion. keep up these great challenges.
  • Golden: @keeghan: you cant, its sdac laws
  • Golden: I think my robot walker can climb
All right ill make 2 legged walker smart and fast
  • electro: I'm in !!!!
  • keeghan: Please let me win or runner-up
  • sdac: you don't have to be a pro to build something that gets itself from one platform to another...
  • ricardito08: Wow! I'm not a pro. I'm not going.
  • sdac: Good luck everyone!
