I would like you to meet Rubi. Rubi can walk, crawl, go up and down stairs and can also stand up when he falls, but he certainly does everything in an unconventional way :)

There's only one button on the screen; Push it to start/stop walking or when he gets stuck and stops moving. DO NOT push button when he's maneuvering (eg. Crawling, he will stand on his own) or he might short circuit :/

Rubi is not perfect, he sometimes gets confused and stuck, but don't be too hard on him, after all, he's only held together with bolts and nuts! it's a tough job being an intelligent robot!

  • 1028349: Principia PC ? GRY PC?
  • harley: Excellent boulot magnifique..
  • Banget: What to No Reference?
  • electro: @Banget: what?
    No reference
  • Banget: @electro: game on a played (11 year ago)
  • nuklear2: lol i wish i knew how to stand up like rubi
  • electro: @Golden: I tried making it(years ago) but failed
  • Golden: @electro: to me, I think when he steps, and falls little until gyro detects specific angle to make another step, idk
  • electro: @Golden: yup but how exactly?
  • Golden: @electro: I think gyro
  • electro: @Golden: that's why I'm asking
  • electro: @Golden: I mean legs used in Android, armed robots, this one. Without rocket/thruster used for balancing
  • Golden: @electro: then it's most complicated
  • electro: @Golden: no, I'm asking about real one like this or Android, not with rockets/thrusters
  • electro: @Golden: let me see
  • Golden: @electro: there is tutorial for it... rom1k made one...
  • electro: I need it badly
  • electro: Can we have a tutorial level on how to make walking legs?
  • electro: @Rubicon: oh good:)
Well, do you use WhatsApp? I would like to add you on WhatsApp group of Principia
  • Rubicon2: @electro: Girls are as much capable of building as guys are, it's all a matter of having an interest and putting in the practice and time.
  • Rubicon2: @Golden: I used the gyro for walking, and for standing after rolling down the stairs. Proximity sensors seemed easier to use for the falling cause dealing with specific gyro angles seemed too tedious, but I guess that would've been another option.
  • electro: @Rubicon: oh I have to understand it already. If you can make this, you can't ba girl(as they can't) lolol
  • Rubicon2: @electro: lol no I'm not a girl. Glad you liked it 👍
  • Golden: @Rubicon: why not use gyro, to detect approximate to level if he fallen on back or belly, like if gyro >= 90 and gyro <= 180 or something like that, (I mean not using lua, theres possible components like if else and stuff)
  • electro: Cool built!!
  • electro: Really, made my day(or year? Maybe!)
  • electro: Aare you a girl?
If yes, will you marry me?
  • electro: LIMITS EXTENDED!!!
  • Rubicon2: @Golden: Sometimes if he gains too much momentum while getting up he'll just lean on the wall and freeze up, and if his rear facing proximity sensor detects the wall while standing up, it makes him think that he fell on his back and he'll try standing up while he's standing lol, then he'll go in limbo mode. I couldn't rid him of all glitches cause the amount of transmitters and circuit interferences got a little out of hand
  • Golden: @Rubicon: he now needs some tinkering and firmware upgrade... He kept falling and get stuck after he got up from crawling
  • mircs1421: Wooow,dude its real cool!
  • Rubicon2: @Fatmeatball: @aaron the maker: @iQuartz: I didn't allow derivatives cause Rubi will respond best to a specific design of steps and obstructions (height and spacing of the steps etc.) Having said that, due to popular demand, I just allowed derivatives. Try to copy the existing stair design in your coarse. Enjoy :)
  • iQuartz: Rubicon, you have only replied to the mods, cant you listen to them and add derivatives?
  • Rubicon2: @woodnut: thanks :)
  • woodnut2: I'm jealous, sweet build.
  • aaron the maker: Please make it edit PLEASE I want to make a course
  • crazytobuildmc: You are God...
  • Fatmeatball: The reason I'm telling you to allow deretives (I suck at spelling) is because we could make obstacle courses, and deretives allow you to download.
  • Rubicon2: @BloodStorm: thanks :)
  • BloodStorm: Awesome robot. I could never build stuff that advanced
  • Rubicon2: @mrsimb: Thank you, good to hear from you mrsimb.
  • mrsimb: you did a really great job, rubicon.
  • pdchangxinli: op
  • Fatmeatball: Allow deretaves. Like, now.

  • BobMonkeypimp: @Golden: Must be time limit like you said before.
  • Golden: Now no more featured...
  • Golden: @Rubicon: yep, works like charm
  • Rubicon2: @Golden: I just tried it, he gets a violent seizure, then completely disappears, then game freezes lol
  • Golden: Can I test my EMP on this?
  • qwertyah: Alowwwww diwirattties please
  • Linux: @pajlada: also how did you guys insert objects like magnets in the game
  • Linux: @pajlada: follow Aaron on steam it's me
  • Rubicon2: @rjravivarma: thanks :)
  • rjravivarma: Good Work man. Like to see more obstacles. LOL
  • Rubicon2: @Nighthawk: lol that's awesome, glad you enjoyed it :)
  • Nighthawk: @Rubicon: dude i just got windows and checked your level, it's AMAZING!! seriously man it made my day. plus Rubi is funny as hell, i think i like him.
  • rich11292000: All the good ole boys for sure
  • Rubicon2: @Nighthawk: Hey brother, it sure has been a while :) I have not heard from woodnut or alfajim, but hellbells seems to be back at it and building in Apparatus. We chatted a few days ago in the chat room. Hope everything is well with you.
  • Golden: @Nighthawk: I'm sure sdac has Principia for Linux, I would think they will be back after evenite is released
  • Nighthawk: by the way, i'd love to tryout this level but i'm on linux now for some reason. i'm sure it's a great one.
  • Nighthawk: Hey, Rubicon. just wana say hi, it has been along time since the last chat we had. have you heard anything from the old guys... woodnut and hellbells? you guys are the most friendly friends i ever had on the web, and it would be great to keep in touch even though there's nothing to hold us together after principia got bankrupted and lost it touch.
  • Golden: @poxy: @Rubicon: xD thats true
  • Rubicon2: @poxy: I think this relationship is moving a little too fast
  • poxy: I love you.
  • Golden: @hhhh: np
  • hhhh: @Golden: thanks
  • Rubicon2: @Golden: lol
  • nuklear2: @Golden: for me principia chat is like facebook
  • Golden: But most funniest when you wait for him to start crawl, then make him walk, looking like he had a diarrhea
  • Golden: @Rubicon: I prefer to add a program to make him dance ;)
  • Rubicon2: @The Shredder: thanks :)
  • Golden: @hhhh: you need to set Principia as administrator
  • The Shredder: An amazing job
  • hhhh: I can't play any levels! The principia can't access the disk! How to solve it?
  • nuklear2: @Rubicon: lol!
  • Rubicon2: @Golden: yeah sometimes he does the funniest things :)
  • Golden: Lol I made rubi have alike a seizure when he fell on ground and I kept pressing button xD
  • Golden: Lmao you still featured... Permanently
  • macks: cool
  • Rubicon2: @Anubis: No that's all the levels I built. I was one of Principia's original beta testers, when the game was released, I built a few levels then I took a long break from the game. I do have over 150 Apparatus levels though, non of which work properly any more though lol
  • Anubis: Why you have 13 lvls only? Did you unlisted the others?
  • Anubis: @Rubicon: ok sir!
  • Rubicon2: @Anubis: after crawling he will stand up on his own, don't push the button or he gets short circuited :)
  • Anubis: Did he just crawled, then can no longer stand... T.T
  • Rubicon2: @Tacomuffins: do you need to update the game? That's strange
  • Tacomuffins: I wish I could play but it won't let me :(
  • Rubicon2: @Chad64: he's cuter cause I gave him more head movement to make him more 'human' like, nothing wrong with showing some bro love lol
  • Rubicon2: @BobMonkeypimp: that's the reaction I was hoping for lol thanks :)
  • Chad64: Rubi seems cuter now. I'm a man and i say these things with pride
  • BobMonkeypimp: @Rubicon: Me watching Rubi - "Okay, he's better at the stairs but how's he gonna get past that pillar? OMG he crawled!!! Ah, but those stairs back down look steep, I bet he throws himself down them or falls... OMG HE DID A ROLL!! Mind blown!"

Rubi is really coming along nicely. Top notch work.
  • Rubicon2: @Golden: @Hobbit: @LauttaSam: Thanks guys
  • LauttaSam: How is this possible? AWESOME!!!
  • Hobbit: It's Atlas' little brother, Rubi has come a long way. Great build!
  • Golden: @Rubicon: wow, nice job on this, have fun with this featured on front page.... Permanently
  • Rubicon2: @TheEnderPT: thanks brother
  • TheEnderPT3: @Rubicon: Nice work dude! And Nice to see you back in principia!
  • Fatmeatball: OK
  • Rubicon2: @Fatmeatball: I'm still working on this level, once done it'll have a full course to show his abilities :)
  • Fatmeatball: @Rubicon Allow deretives, that way we can make courses for him!
  • Fatmeatball: Allow deretives!
  • Golden: At least I have no ideas to build ;)
  • Golden: @pajlada: welcome back
  • Technomancer: Glad to see finally tgeres a featured level
  • hhhh: Try to controll the centre of gravity.
  • Rubicon2: @pajlada: Hey pajlada good to hear from you again :) thanks, I'm still working on this level, but the more you add to it the more the circuits start interfering with one another, but it's coming along nicely. Thanks for featuring it BTW
  • pajlada: Just trying out a comment. This level is really nice. 😊
  • PeterZ: @Tesla03Coil: I`ve been here since late 2013, made a profile only in 2014.
  • KeyInteractive: @JOELwindows7: hey remember cool dude
... well i forgot by password and now dis is meh joel
  • Coolblocks749: @BobMonkeypimp: THIS GAMES COMING BACK TO LIFE! or rube just hacked it.......
  • kacperTMPL: wooow awesome!
  • Tesla03Coil: @PeterZ: im never know how to be the user in those day, when i started to play this on 2015 maybe july they're already gone, i hope could know this game earlier
  • Rubicon2: @dOUBLEbAD: thanks! I have many interesting ideas for this level, as long as my phone can keep up :)
  • PeterZ: @Tesla03Coil: I miss those days.
  • dOUBLEbAD: We still have a server to play on so I presume that we have yet to be forgotten. @Rubicon: Nice to see you brushing the dust off and making a grand return. This is a very interesting build so far and I can't wait to see how far you can take it.
  • Tesla03Coil: @Rubicon: yep absolutely, they still running the community. I really dont know how to saya thanks to them, even the developer is fallen down but they still care for this game
  • Rubicon2: @Chad64: @Tesla03Coil: @wokstation: @principiafreak300: @hhhh: @Sergey: I was as surprised as everyone else when I saw it this morning. I'm hopeful that this is a sign of good things to come. Even when I wasn't building I was still checking up on the game, I'm sure the developers are on here more often than we might think :)
  • Tesla03Coil: @wokstation: i really want to feel how principia life again, official contest, more users, more kids are inspired by this game and love math and physics. And i cannot imagine how many items and how cool it will if Principia grown to 2.0.0 for example
  • BobMonkeypimp: @Rubicon: Well done for making front page and also... HOLY SH*T YOU'RE ON THE FRONT PAGE!!
  • Sergey: You master.
  • wokstation22: @hhhh: @principiafreak300: before you go getting excited, it means that someone with admin rights added the level to the "featured" category, which is likely as easy as moving a thread on a forum. Might not even have been a dev. Hope it was, obv.
  • hhhh: It is on the main menu! What does it mean? Bithack didn't forget Principia!
  • principiafreak300: @Tesla03Coil: @wokstation: @Chad64: Does that mean Bithack/developers go in the community back?
  • Tesla03Coil: @wokstation: yeah i saw it too, it's featured
  • wokstation22: @Chad64: and the only one that can tell that, is you :p
  • Chad64: @wokstation: no, i found it featured first. (well in my point of view)
  • wokstation22: @Tesla03Coil: the description points out that this is deliberate ;)
  • wokstation22: @Chad64: "first"?? Last *year* was first :p
@Rubicon: I wanna see it moonwalk!
  • Tesla03Coil: Rubi are tests my patience, lol it's always fell down when it tries to pass the stairs
  • Tesla03Coil: Hope they're running this game again
  • Chad64: first btw
  • Chad64: wait.. @zardOz:' Tile Clone Game never got featured.
  • Chad64: does passing 25 likes make a level featured? because this is.
  • dislexicboy: @Rubicon: I read very carfully
  • Rubicon2: @dislexicboy: really? Well that makes one of us cause I have no idea what I just said ;)
  • dislexicboy: @Rubicon: understood
  • dislexicboy: I am going to have to see if I can get up like this robot does
  • Rubicon2: @The_Blacksmith_: :)
  • Rubicon2: @Demon666: I'll start with going down the stairs first, then I'll see where my patience takes me lol
  • The_Blacksmith_: This is amazing!
  • Demon666: also what about backwards walking? or backwards stair climbing? lol
  • Rubicon2: @Demon666: thanks, I'm experimenting with different things, but suction cups are definitely a good option :)
  • Demon666: love the backward getup motion btw xD. i love how it flips backwards lol
  • Demon666: got an idea for ya... put suction cups on his hands and make him climb lol
  • Rubicon2: @BobMonkeypimp: @ACxfayan: Glad you liked it :)
  • ACxfayan: Getting up ninja style!!!
  • BobMonkeypimp: @Rubicon: I was already impressed with the self righting mechanism for when he fell on his front but this, well this is something else! Certainly a novel way to get back on your feet.
  • Rubicon2: @Demon666: I thought you'd like it :)
  • Demon666: @Rubicon: lmao that get up motion is epic...
  • Rubicon2: @principiafreak300: thanks
  • principiafreak300: @Rubicon: And it's really cool
  • GlaDos: It is hard to explain but is equipped with six bulbs (a prototype) with those Iamps (arranged in a known order) is ordered to light a (eg light bulb 2) and a camera detects going on and what should be on, after the order is changed and ordered to turn a new bulb (4) detects that the light bulb does not match that traces the sequence should light bulb from the lamp 1 to 6, for example if the number bulbs and reset inputs. It is difficult to explain
  • Rubicon2: @Demon666: I don't think I could've kept track otherwise, I needed a visual aid :)
  • Rubicon2: @blood789: @GlaDos: thanks guys, GlaDos what's your approach to the self learning? What's it capable of learning?
  • Demon666: i love how you used a stick figure on to represent where the robots joints are in the bread board lol.... i always had a hell of a hard time just figuring out what things were where after i piled enough objects lol
  • Rubicon2: @principiafreak300: Oh OK cool, thanks
  • principiafreak300: @Rubicon: They were stair climbers already, but no stair walkers I think
  • Demon666: @Rubicon: lol i know the feeling... mine was standing on its head while trying to regain balance lol. i may make that a feature looked kinda cool. imagine a robot that could walk upside down on its hands lol
  • Rubicon2: @Demon666: thanks! Lol just doing some minor tweaks before starting to expand on the build. He will no longer be trying to climb stairs while laying flat on his face lol
  • Demon666: no controls xD
  • GlaDos: Wow amazing, I desing a real AI and it can learn. But is a prototipe
  • blood789: thats really good!!
  • Rubicon2: @TechZ: thanks TZ
  • TechZ2124: Wow pretty awesome robot !
  • Chad64: Ok.. next is @Tetsu: or @Cralant: 's turn.
  • Aceheliflyer: I was going to create an AI with my knowledge of each part in principia. (With out Lua) Never knew where to start... XD
  • JOELwindows7: @Rubicon: :) also welcome back!
  • Rubicon2: @wokstation: lol that's the best I can do with the walking :) he does have one stabilizer on his back.
  • Rubicon2: @JOELwindows7: @BobMonkeypimp: @Demon666: glad you liked it, it took a while to get him to do what he does now (no Lua used here) I built this on my phone so I'm not sure if it acts different on PC. I eventually wanna make him go down steps, stand up if he falls on his face/ back. Crouch to avoid overhead obstacles.
  • wokstation22: I like the "strike pose, fall forward" method ;)
    Any stabilizers on there?
  • Demon666: nice! he does fall sometimes tho lol
  • BobMonkeypimp: Incredible. He fell on his ass at the top of the stairs but still incredible.
  • JOELwindows7: Where PhD you got?
    Duper Awesome infinity
