One more try to get this going...

THIS TIME, though, you can FLY. That's right. Rockets and thrusters are officially in, (but not mandatory) as well as emitters, provided they do not emit land mines, and EVEN LUASCRIPT! With the exception of manipulative functions. (e.g. set_velocity)

Other than that, the sensor rules are a bit wonkier than last time. All impact sensors must be full size, and the number of them you have sort of determines your robot's health. The left example robot has 5 sensors, so each one is routed through a square, multiplied by 1/5, and then they're all added together to be sent to the central lua. a ready-to-use chip is available to do this for you with 4 inputs. If you only use one sensor, you only need to send it though a square and then to the lua.

One last note, any methods for getting OP signals are STRICTLY FOREBODEN. Punishment will be severe. seeeeeeveeeeeeeeerrreeeeeeeeeeeee.

I'm not making a due date yet.

EDIT: un-derped the screeny.

  • electro: @BloodStorm: Okay then, I'm going to make a robot
    Always likes making them :)
  • BloodStorm: @electro i dont see why not
  • BloodStorm: @electro i dont see why not
  • electro: @BloodStorm: @that guy: @dOUBLEbAD: @Golden: are entries allowed?
Coz I have time to spare now :)
  • BloodStorm: @that guy i was just wondering if they were now allowed
  • that guy2: @BloodStorm: It's just a mess to handle who gets what range. None of the previous installments (all 2 of them) have used them, and I'm really not sure what anyone's building that absolutely requires them.

Just to clarify, forcing objects into each other is perfectly fine.
  • BloodStorm: @that guy wait are receivers and transmitters allowed? I heard talk but no one said its allowed
  • BloodStorm: Oh, yeah that sucks. I just have free time cuz this week i had no homeowork
  • that guy2: @BloodStorm: I've been really busy...
You know when school just kind of seems to let down its guard, but then it turns around and punches you in the face? I've been dealing with that.
  • BloodStorm: @that guy are we doing the tourny or what?
  • BloodStorm: If you start allowing receivers and stuff i think everyone should have a person range of 3000 frequencies. If you add this i call 9000-12000!
  • dOUBLEbAD: @that guy: to be honest, I'm not exactly sure, it is still very much a wip. This shooting stuff concept has got me a bit befuddled. Then there is the desire to attack and defend at any angle or direction. I'll post the super early alpha prototype when I get a chance. Best guess, I'll need around 15 frequencies, maybe less but I am not sure about getting it under 10. Maybe...
  • electro: @that guy: @dOUBLEbAD: please provide us proper frequency ranges, I too need it
  • that guy2: @dOUBLEbAD: What exactly are you making?
  • dOUBLEbAD: I need a frequency range so I can have my entry set properly
  • x32g: FOREBODEN, MY CHILD
  • that guy2: @electro: @Golden: @BloodStorm: Hah, don't woory too much about the due date yet. I haven't even started building mine...
  • electro: @Golden: will give proof on WhatsApp group
  • electro: @Golden: not that, I can give you proof
  • Golden: @electro: but I have alternate drone ;)
  • Golden: Trying not to post so you can wim
  • Golden: @electro: I can see that lmao
  • electro: @Chad64: @BloodStorm: @dOUBLEbAD: @that guy: @Coolblocks749: @nuklear2: @Golden: please confirm last date. I have some serious eye and brain problems so, I can't finish my entry soon.
  • BloodStorm: I think there shouldnt be a due date just on the 1st of the month theres a robot tournament.
Then that would save designing time.
  • dOUBLEbAD: Great news, except for the major redesign I have ahead of me now lol
  • that guy2: @BloodStorm: @shantanuaryan67: @dOUBLEbAD: @Coolblocks749: @Golden: @electro:
Just a PSA, you can use object fields too.
  • BloodStorm: @that guy are you on
  • BloodStorm: Whats an OP signal?
  • BloodStorm: Finished with the BG.5.HAC
  • shantanuaryan67: @dOUBLEbAD: https://plus.google.com/103813192920440894675

  • Coolblocks749: Eh
  • dOUBLEbAD: Anyone in contact with @BobMonkeypimp: outside of Principia?
  • that guy2: @BobMonkeypimp:
  • dOUBLEbAD: @BobMonkeypimp: where are you?
  • dOUBLEbAD: @electro: you can copy and paste mini transmitters and receivers in this version of Principia but you have to use the box select mode. @that guy: yes to this being a flying contest
  • Chad64: disconnect_all()?
  • nuklear2: should 7 enter?
  • Golden: @electro: I just finished working on smart drone, that wont fall or Sat flying while turned
  • electro: This time, we will hit true challenges;
    So excited about it ;)
  • electro: And for porting them, use Principia 1.4 as it is not possible to port mini receivers and transmitters in latest build.
  • electro: @Golden: @that guy: @dOUBLEbAD: what if we provide some specific frequency range to each participant?
    Eg. I will use 1-10
    Golden: 11-20
    Doublebad: 21-30
    And so on
  • electro: @Golden: it needs to fight
  • Golden: Nvm about frequency
  • Golden: And frequency or stuff
  • Golden: Hmm I'm in, I have few ideas for this war, but does it need to fight? Does it need to be compact with circuits out of place?
  • that guy2: @electro: @dOUBLEbAD: @BobMonkeypoop: @the rest of ye's:
  • electro: @that guy: @dOUBLEbAD: me also starting from zero so, upload a new level about all robot war 3 rules
  • that guy2: @dOUBLEbAD: @electro: OOH! OHH! What if we allowed FLYING builds?
  • dOUBLEbAD: @that guy: since I'd be starting from scratch it wouldn't affect me in the least, lol.
  • that guy2: @dOUBLEbAD: @electro: Heh. Forgot I made all these.
How would it affect everyone's builds if all sensors had to be maximum size?
  • electro: @dOUBLEbAD:
  • electro: I want this contest back on track, just tell me yes, so I can build one ;)
  • dOUBLEbAD: I was away and lost my wip, I can get started on a new build if we are going to breathe new life into this contest
  • electro: need some time, busy in lot of study...
  • electro: meow
  • BobMonkeypimp: @that guy: Beast is ready but I still think the maximum for the impact sensors ahould be 125.3
  • Chad64: derp
  • that guy2: ummm, hello? @dOUBLEbAD: @Coolblocks749: @Chad64: @electro: does anybody even have anything? I'm probably going to change the rules a bit, but nothing that requires redesigning. I'll also probably extend the deadline considering nobody has said anything...

    It's just quiet...

    Awkward...

    ...

    CHEESECAKE
  • RasmusOlle: @that guy: @Chad64: @BobMonkeypimp: try out ZombocomMod!
  • BobMonkeypimp: I think the impact sensor threshold should be 125.3. B.E.A.S.T has 6 impact sensors and is virtually indestructible. I even tested by firing metal balls at the sensor.
  • that guy2: @Chad64: Oh, yeah. I once made a battlebot that expanded to 5 times its height and 3 times its width. http://principiagame.com/level/16566
  • Chad64: @that guy: The robot itself must fit in the box, but can you use servos that reach out of the box?
  • BobMonkeypimp: My robot is finished excluding modifications/updates.
  • that guy2: @BobMonkeypimp: I guess I left a lot of loopholes... Especially forgetting to disallow transmitters... heh, whoops.
  • BobMonkeypimp: @that guy: Surely people could misuse them to protect the impact sensors or create a forcefield though. I'm actually being prepared this time & started building my robot already.
  • that guy2: @Chad64: In the example robot with 5 sensors, the jumper is 0.20, or 1/5. plus, the threshold on all the example sensors is the maximum value already. (250)
@BobMonkeypimp: The shape extruder is a useful utility for preventing objects from glitching through each other. Overkill actually uses them in her blades.
  • BobMonkeypimp: I think the shape extruder should go in the 'nope' box.
  • Coolblocks749: Wait lua is in the nope box. ;-;
  • Coolblocks749: And what if theres this noob that just made the thershold of the impact sensors like INSANE?
  • Coolblocks749: Wait, so we can make a lua code that blows up everything else? (Or that epic nuke someone made.......)
  • Chad64: ... *0.01?
  • Chad64: so do you mean the signal of the jumper sent to muls would be 100 divided by your number of impact sensors?
