Hi, as a few of you know I've been facing surgery. A below knee amputation of the right leg to be precise. The surgery was initially supposed to be on the 30th November but it happened yesterday afternoon on the 1st.
Well as you can all probably guess, the surgery was a success & I'm okay, not in too much pain but very very tired.
Take care everyone, I'll be back building soon & I'm still hanging around (after a long, well deserved sleep).

  • BloodStorm: glad your ok
  • JOELwindows7: Great to see you better now
  • Hobbit: I'm happy all went well! There is nothing that can stop you unless you let it, you are a human, the most powerful thing in the universe! I would still insist on a shiny robot leg though, that would be freakin sweet!!!
  • x32g: @BobMonkeypimp: Glad you're feeling better! I missed your levels and your presence in the community! Great to have you back!
  • dOUBLEbAD: @BobMonkeypimp: oh yeah, being able to keep that joint is totally a plus. Glad to hear that the pain is nearly eliminated as well. It'll be a bit trying for a while but with the wheels you are probably more mobile than when you were trying to walk on that thing. I am glad you are doing well and appreciate you checking in with all of us. Cheers!

Amazingly waking up from the amputation I felt no pain & even only minimal pain when the anaesthetic fully wore off. I've been in f*cking agony for the past year so it's pretty nice right now. I can still feel my lower leg/foot as if it were still there but there's no phantom pain at all.
I had my own wheelchair that I was using 2 days after the operation, by 4 days after I'd pretty much see the hospital corridors as my personal wheelchair racecourse. They gave me a new hospital approved wheelchair which they say is safer (it has a stump rest), I think safer means slower because I can't seem to push this one as quickly.
I'm on painkillers still but in barely any pain but the only annoyance is that everything takes longer now. Getting to the kitchen & making a cup of tea took 15 minutes. Minor really.
In a few months I'll be fitted for a prosthetic, I think it'll be easier learning to walk on it since I still have my knee joint.
  • JOELwindows7: @Golden: oh ok
  • Golden: @BobMonkeypimp: stay strong! And handsom lol
  • Golden: @JOELwindows7:

BobMonkeypimp: @The Ohio One: I have massive blockages in the veins/arteries from about halfway down my calf to my feet. Can't be fixed with a bypass. Basically when I try to walk my feet cramp up massively & the pain is excruciating. Still, I like to stay positive :)
  • JOELwindows7: @Golden: lol, are you serious?
  • Golden: @JOELwindows7: he commented what happened to his leg on wheelchair Contest
  • Hobbit: I hope they give you a badass robot leg!
  • that guy2: Oh god... how long have I been gone...
  • x32g: The level is oddly calming. Good to know you're alright tho!
  • JOELwindows7: I mean bellow knee to foot
  • JOELwindows7: It's great to feel okay, but the not okay, in my opinion, you lost your leg. I feel sorry, you are no longer okay on the leg, why?
  • BloodStorm: Glad you're ok :D
  • austin_knauss: Glad you're alright.
  • woodnut2: Great news :) Is that the fog of recovery ?
  • blackghost: am glad to hear that you are fine
  • Golden: Wow, at least there's newer technology for prosthetic leg tbh
