v3.0: removed the moon temporarily and added another planet, some building tools and an unreliable launcher. Just use your gun and follow the line if you can't get the launcher to work.

Lag is becoming difficult to work with, Ill probably add a moon back in and remove some of the massive debris field.

v2.0: MOOOOOAAR! Added a moon... sorta. Still working on it... cant increase the gravity as it gains mass unfortunately. 2.0.1: decreased gravity on the moon so it doesnt scatter the ring material so fast, it develops differently each time, stick with it!

v1.3: added a method of launching lots of orbitable debris at once and a few small sattelites.

v1.2: Added Cralant's object tracking sprite line to aid in managing your speed and direction. Shoot in the opposite direction of the line if you get lost in space. When the line shinks to nothing you will start falling back, if the line is coming out of the robots head you are falling back to the planet.

v1.1: started robot in orbit with some dangerous debris and made a bigger planet...

Circle sprite lua is in the center.

When the first pro contest was on I requested the AG object so I could make a multi-planet adventure, but it wasnt ready in time so I have a few old tricks laying around unused;)

  • zardOz2: @hubblebrine: yeah, use the gun to put yourself into orbit)
  • hubblebrine: Nice , hey i can control robots move with my gun , so its like an astronaut using nitrogen jetpack in space, cool zardOz !!
  • incrazyboyy: @sdac: you are awesome
  • sdac: @incrazyboyy: arbitrary camera rotation is supported in 1.5
  • incrazyboyy: @sdac: please add the gameplay option "rotate camera with robot" so we can use planets like this
  • JOELwindows7: Final destination from My idea.
    Thx for inspiring! Awesome again!
  • martikill: Maybe my landing will punch it a lot
  • zardOz2: @martikill: the artificial gravity doesnt get stronger with more mass, so it should actually move farther away if more is added.
  • martikill: @zardOz: its impossible to build space station on moon because it will crash into Earth if its too heavy :).
  • zardOz2: @woodnut: lol I guess I should polish it up, newton is doing most of the work
  • woodnut2: One of your greatest builds, there are sooo many :)
  • JOELwindows7: @zardOz: it is a Minecraft mod that will blow your mind that put a real Computer into that Java of Minecraft. go ahead to to know
  • zardOz2: @JOELwindows7: ComputerCraft?
  • JOELwindows7: Seriously! This is how you make it. Awesome!
Perhaps you can recreate it ComputerCraft :D
  • Ctjet: (i was the sattelite)
  • Ctjet: I successfully made a lunar orbit
  • incrazyboyy: you forgot to make a meteor with cranes and a factory!
  • zardOz2: @Grave_Jumper: @martikill: Ive had a few awesome runs on this with gravity boosting, centripital ejection and whatnot... if you are lucky you can find one of the builder tools and build the moon into a space sstation!
  • Grave_Jumper: Just deorbited the Moon :) Awesome lvl!
  • martikill: Great lvl
  • zardOz2: @Alfajim: not unless I put an autoabsorber on everything! Thx
  • Alfajim: This just gets better and better. Would it be possible to make space debris burn up and disappear as it enters the atmosphere? Sorry some of us won't be happy till you've made a fully functioning galaxy lol. :)
  • PeterZ: This gave me an idea for update.
@pajlada: what about camera angler so that when you are on the bottom of the planet you wouldn't be upside down.
  • Ctjet: @zardOz: lol nice
  • zardOz2: @abrackers: ouch... of course It may not work so good for a large object with high mass.
  • wokstation22: @zardOz: that's great news! *plots*
  • abrackers2: @zardOz: oh its just an artificial gravity. Ok I wish I didnt try to build everything 1000 units from the centre of the planet
  • abrackers2: @zardOz: I wish I had this for my ISS flight test level
  • zardOz2: @wokstation: 1.5 you should be able to do that fyi
  • zardOz2: This is getting laggy now, Kessler syndrome sorry:) If you see high speed objects right away there was a load problem with my explosive launcher.
  • wokstation22: @zardOz: that's a shame, I was hoping to find a way to rotate an adventure bot with Lua for my rotary space station!
  • zardOz2: @Ctjet: ok not so much patience after all check it out.
  • Ctjet: @zardOz: yeah :(
  • zardOz2: @Ctjet: it wouldnt be that cool since it's only 2d, but with extreme patience you could set a lot of objects into higher orbits.
  • Ctjet: nice but i dare you to try the kessler syndrome with this
  • zardOz2: @The Ohio One: well it's GH7's project so Ill let him do that...
  • The Ohio One: Make more planets! :-)
  • zardOz2: @wokstation: there is no way to do that with robots and objects... if it was sprites I could...
  • wokstation22: @zardOz: multiply the linear velocity by a factor of the distance from the gravitational centre? So it's slowed by 10% at the surfacce, for eg?
  • zardOz2: @Alfajim: yeah could be alot of fun with multiple planets if the lag can be kept down. I cant think of any tricks for atmosphere drag tho
  • Alfajim: Awesome job! It looks amazing. I got some pretty cool orbits going. :)
  • zardOz2: @incrazyboyy: Oh you can use my old background nd sprite help... Just update it before export... It doesnt really work on flat ground for transiition to space since there is no floor in space background.
  • zardOz2: @incrazyboyy: yeah that's pretty simple, ill post a code for you later when I have some time.
  • incrazyboyy: Could you male this for flat worlds, too (sky replacement) ? With a configurable lenght
  • zardOz2: @keeghan: yep, go ahead
  • GH7: @zardOz: that comment was meant for you.@keeghan: sorry
  • GH7: @keeghan: This is wonderful. Thank you, I'm working on AI ships right now, I've changed and added a few things to the testing level. Once everything has been tested and it works, putting it together will be no problem. Thanks a million. Could you make some form of currency, and somehow make it lootable. Not will you, but could you?
  • keeghan: @zardOz: can I use it?
  • zardOz2: @Ctjet: all yours... you can get a solid orbit just above the atmo sign but its very easy to toss yourself into infinity.
  • zardOz2: @TechZ: oh I didnt mean to wrap around the front, just make it seem like the robot is inside the air.
  • Ctjet: Looks epic
  • TechZ2124: @zardOz: Yeah, great idea but I didn't found the way to make make a perfect "3D sphere", I think it needs to know some advanced mathematics to draw it
  • zardOz2: @TechZ: It can also be layered like your 3D blocks with less density as it gets higher for a cool effect. Thx!
  • TechZ2124: That definitively looks awesome, it would be very useful in a lot levels, great job ;)
