zardOz's Principia Tutorials #15

Need help? This example shows the basic function of the Velocity Meter, Sincos and Atan2.

The Velocity Meter is used to transmit speed and angle coordinates to other objects.

The Sincos takes an angle signal and splits it into four graph coordinate signals +Y/+X/-Y/-X, the Atan2 takes four coordinate inputs and turns them into an angle signal. (See tutorial #12)

  • JOELwindows7: Uumm sir, you forgot to Allow Derivatives. Every time you quit, the Allow checkbox is not saved, and defaultly, it is off.
  • zardOz2: I am planning on uppdating this one but it's number 50 on the todo list..thx pete
  • poutinepete: This is very helpful. Good job!
  • pajlada: @zardOz: ;-) this one is better presented
  • zardOz2: Well, Pajlada beat me to this one it seems, Ive unintentionally cloned level 639!
  • zardOz2: @woodnut: thanks, Ill see if I can work it out!
  • woodnut2: Try this , from the sub . (set at 25) to a moving average IN . Set the coefficient slider below the capital C .
This gives a smoother movement with ~ 250° rotation but CCW. My truck speedo rotates C.W. so an inverter after the mov. avg. to get the CW should work. :)
  • zardOz2: Sorry for the crappy speedometer, if someone could tell me how to make it not peg out at a tiny speed, Ill fix it up
